Toner
Cartridges 101
There are several different kinds of toner cartridges available
these days. San Diego Copiers recommend Remanurfactured OEM cartridges.
They are available for 25% to 60% less than brand new cartridges.
OEM Genuine - are brand new and made by the original
manufacturer and are expensive. Most have a 6 month warranty.
Compatibles NBC (new built cartidges) - are low budget,
copycat, newly-molded, plastic toner cartridge (not Eco friendly) that are fabricated
overseas and are often not as durable or reliable, but are 60% to 70% less expensive
that genuine OEM.
Remanufactured
OEM - are empty OEM genuine cartridges, that have
been remanufactured to meet OEM and ISO specifications. Known to give full toner
yield, they are very reliable and come with a 1 year warranty - they are Eco friendly.
Refilled cartidges - are used empty cartridges that have
been refilled with toner. They are low cost but have a high failure rate because
the components are not replaced and do not meet ISO standards.
